EC schools 1st XV rugby results week ending 18th March

Last weekend (18th March) saw the first string of schools’ rugby fixtures around the country, for the unfolding of the 2017 winter sports season.

This, ahead of Easter in the next coming weeks, where Easter Rugby Festivals in various parts of the country get held for top-class schools from different regions to showcase their talents on neutral soils.

In Port Elizabeth, Grey High traditionally play host to one of the more elite Easter festivals in the country, with one of the more quality 1st XV sides in the first league belt of schools partaking.

Grey High, however, has yet to play in 2017, but last weekend there saw other top Eastern Cape schools kicking off their 2017 rugby season. These schools alike, namely: Selborne College, Queens College, Dale College, Framesby and St. Andrews College, are normally all flag-bearing rugby schools for the EC and had again ascertained this with good victories over the weekend.

In seemingly warm-up matches before the actual season kicks off, the respective schools who played last weekend, played oppositions not too far geographically and remained relatively region-specific.
