Eight killed in Eastern Cape accident

Eight people were reportedly killed and three others injured in a head-on-collision between a bakkie and a mini-bus taxi on the N2 between Dutywa and Mthatha in the Eastern Cape on Friday.

According to the SABC and SAPA, reports susggested that the bakkie was making a U-turn when it was hit by the taxi. Four people were killed in each vehicle. 

The deceased were three males and five women. It is not yet clear if the drivers of the vehicles were among those killed.  

The injured have been admitted to the Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital in Mthatha.
