Elderly Port Alfred man arrested for drunken driving

A 68-year-old Port Alfred man is in custody after he was arrested by the Port Alfred Cluster Commander, Brigadier Morgan Govender, for drunken driving.

According to Port Alfred police; "Brigadier Govender was returning from a meeting when he noticed a vehicle that was travelling in front of him driving in a reckless manner.

"He managed to stop the vehicle at Albany Road. On questioning the driver for his drivers licence, he noticed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. He was also not in possession of a driver's licence."

The suspect was arrested and faces charhes of driving a motor vehicle whilst under the influence of alcohol, deiving a vehicle without the possession of a driver's licence and reckless and negligent driving.
