Energy generation dips 3.3% during July

Data released by Statistics South African on energy production, has found that generation dropped by 3.3% during July 2015 versus the same time in 2014.

The latest findings also revealed that the volume of electricity distributed across the country fell from 20 545 gigawatt hours in 2014 to 19 994 gigawatt hours this year, while a sharp decline was also posted in the delivery of electricity by Eskom to various provinces. Those hardest hit include the Western Cape (-6.0%), Eastern Cape (-4.8%), Limpopo (-4.8%), Mpumalanga (-4.5%) and Gauteng (4.2%).
