Entry level Hyundai ix35 diesel now available


Korean auto giant Hyundai has launched a more affordable diesel version of its smash-hit ix35 compact SUV, to complement the existing 2.0-litre petrol and turbodisel models.

Priced at R359 900, a whopping R50 000 less than the base 2.0 CRDi Elite, the new 1.7 CRDi Premium features the marque latest U2-series of diesel engine that produces 85 kW and 260 N.m. Hyundai claims a combined fuel consumption figure of 6.5 l/100 km, 0-100 km/h in 12.4 sec. and a top speed of 173 km/h. Power is sent to the front-wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.

Standard features includes electrically folding and heated mirrors, Bluetooth, touch screen infotainment system, four speaker sound system with USB and aux input, reverse camera with park assist, electric windows all around, cruise control, manual air-conditioning, push button start, six airbags, auto on/off headlights, auto lock/unlock doors, ABS with EBD and BAS and follow me home lights.
