Eskom says no blackouts until next year

Power utility Eskom has reportedly given the assurance it won’t implement any rolling blackouts until April next year.

“We will continue to supply the country's electricity and maintain our plant with minimal or no load shedding,” CEO Brain Molefe was quoted by Reuters as saying in Parliament on Tuesday.

The state-owned parastatal, which has not announced a blanket cut in power for almost three months, has meanwhile indicated that electricity in certain parts of the Eastern Cape has been resorted following heavy rains.
