Etzebeth may return for Cheetahs clash
DHL Western Province Stormers lock, Eben Etzebeth, is likely to return to the team for their pre-season match against the Toyota Free State Cheetahs at Newlands on Friday evening.
The Stormers recorded their first pre-season match win when they beat the SWD Eagles 34-3 at Outeniqua Park on Saturday.
Etzebeth has rested from this past weekend’s trip to George and returned to full training with the team on Monday afternoon.
Loose forwards Nizaam Carr, who is recovering from a viral infection and Siya Kolisi, who has a small hamstring injury will both be unavailable for selection this week, along with fullback, Jaco Taute, who has a knee injury.
The Stormers team, who will be facing the Cheetahs this Friday, will be announced on Tuesday afternoon.
After Friday’s match, Province will conclude their three-match Super Rugby preparation against the Boland Cavaliers on the 7th of February.
