Exclusive Interview with Trystan Claire Bain, Model and Bikini Athlete
How would you describe yourself when you are at home and relaxing?
A Busy Bee! I don’t rest much, I am either working, at the gym or doing something to keep me busy.
When and why did you decide to take up a career in modelling and competitive bikini competitions?
In 2014 I decided to pursue modelling as it always has been a passion of mine. Then in 2015 I wanted to try something new and got involved with Muscle Fit who introduced me to this new phase in my life.
What are some of the challenges related to being a bikini athlete?
Consistency in your diet, constant training – Here is where discipline is key!
What are some of the challenges balancing being a bikini athlete and model?
For modelling you cannot be too “built” and for bikini athlete you cannot be too skinny.
What is your secret to keeping in shape?
Again consistency when it comes to eating healthy and training. To me it’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle.
How did you get involved with MuscleFit and NutriTech and when?
I got involved with Steve Hawkins and he got me to enter IBFF, and here is where I got involved with Nutritech.
Your favourite NutriTech Supplement?
Nitro Cut – it’s a weight loss supplement that helps you achieve your goal towards weight loss. It also brings out the hard earned muscle definition.
Your favourite MuscleFit Apparel?
The MuscleFit tights – they come in amazing colours!
What are some of the misconceptions you have experienced during your career as a full time model and athlete?
Believe it or not, not all models and athletes live on celery sticks and two grapes – it’s ok to eat! Majority of models and athletes eat a normal healthy diet.
Shoots are not always as glamorous as the picture portrays in the magazine.... sometimes you have to do a lot of clothing changes and 100 poses to get the right shot!
You have achieved a lot in your career thus far. Can you elaborate a bit more on your successes?
Its pure determination – If you put your mind to it, you can achieve it! It’s been hard work but worth it.
What lies ahead in 2016 for Trystan Claire Bain?
Matric! So slowing down a bit, but will still maintain the training regime.
Your advice to young girls aspiring to take up competitive bikini or body fitness careers?
Never give up; pain is weakness leaving the body!
Lastly, if you could give a shout out to your fans and the public of Port Elizabeth before 2015 comes to an end, what would that be?
2015 has been a good year, so don’t stop, move forward. Make a goal, reach it and then make another goal!
