Executive touch given to Honda Ballade

As part of a slight mid-life revision, Honda has added a new trim level designation to its Ballade compact sedan range.

Slotting above the previous range topping Elegance, the new Executive remains mechanically unchanged but boasts a number of features not available previously. These include unique 16-inch alloy wheels, chromed door handles, height and reach adjustable steering wheel, full leather trim and mirror integrated indicators.

Standard spec includes a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment with Bluetooth, USB and Aux inputs, leather covered multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, electric windows all around, reverse camera, auto lock/unlock doors, ABS with EBD, EBA and VSA, Hill Start Assist and six airbags.

Underneath the bonnet, power comes from a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that produces 88 kW and 145 N.m of torque. Transmission options consist of a five-speed manual or Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with paddle shifters. Top speed is rated at 190 km/h for both models with the CVT reaching 0-100 km/h in 11.1 secs and the manual in 9.5 secs. Honda claims a combined fuel consumption figure of 5.9 L/100 km for the manual and 5.8 L/100 km for the CVT.

A three year / 100 000 km warranty and four year / 60 000 km service plan is standard across the range.
