Expect a load shedding free weekend: Eskom

AUGUST 21, 2015

Eskom on Friday morning said that it did not intend to implement load shedding this weekend as the system has been stable for some time. The power utility has not implemented load shedding for almost two weeks now and has managed to do much needed maintenance work on its generating units.

Eskom’s Khulu Phasiwe told EWN that; “Last time we had a good run of about 10 days and unfortunately thereafter there were some problems with some of the units.

But so far things are looking and basically its part of what we have been saying, that we want to continue to do maintenance without load shedding and this has been the case. Its all about demand and  supply.”
