Expect Stage 2 Load Shedding From 5pm: Eskom (see schedules)

Eskom has announced that it will escalate to Stage 2 Load shedding from 17H00 and this is likely to last until 22H00. In the morning, the power utility did warn of the high possibility of escalation when it implemented Stage 1 load shedding.

"#PowerAlert: #Load_shedding will move to stage 2 from 17h00 until 22h00 today. Eskom sincerely apologises for the inconvenience," the power utility Tweeted. 

Earlier today, the ailing utility announced it was battling to keep up with the current electricity demand.

Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality

According to the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, Stage 1 continues until 17H00. 

"In accordance with the schedule, the following Groups will be shed till 17H00:

 - Group 1 from 14H00 to 16H30

- Group 2 from 16H00 to 17H00."

 

In accordance with Stage 2, applicable from 17H00, the following Groups will be shed accordingly:

- Groups 4 & 5 will be shed from 17H00 to 18H30

- The geysers & Group 6 from 18H00 to 20H30

- Groups 1 & 2 from 20H00 - 22H30
