Facelifted Volkswagen Jetta now available

First launched back in 2010, Volkswagen has given its stalwart sixth generation Jetta compact sedan a subtle mid-life makeover to reflect the German automaker’s latest design language.

Mostly limited to cosmetic enhancements, the Jetta features a resigned front and rear bumper, chrome plated grille, headlights now incorporating daytime running LED’s, redesigned taillight clusters and a new bootlid. Changes to the interior is also subtle and includes a new multi-function steering wheel, revised centre console now incorporating the firm’s Multi Device infotainment system, and upgraded interior trim.

Powertrain options remain unchanged and consists out of a three turbocharged TSI petrol engines and two TDI turbodiesels. Transmission options are also carried over with petrol models having the option of a six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG, while a five-speed manual or seven-speed DSG could be have on the base 1.6-litre TDI with the range topping 2.0-litre oil burner featuring a six-speed version of the latter with no manual option.
