Family entertainment at its best!: Open Sky will not disappoint…
Looking for family activities this holiday season? I was recently invited to join a few friends and their kids at Open Sky, which is situated on the outskirts of Port Elizabeth in Little Chelsea, for a day of fun and entertainment. This family-friendly entertainment park, restaurant and Lapa had my friends and their kids jumping with excitement.
Having only been at Open Sky for an evening dance or two as a student, I was keen to see what they had to offer during the day.
When we arrived there, the kids instantly ran for the playground area while we decided to kick back and relax in their tranquil, lush garden setting. Looking over at the happy children, I could see why this was paradise for them.
Open Sky offers plenty of activities and facilities for active kids including a large playground area, jungle gyms, a kids’ carousel, convoy cars and a trampoline.
We later decided to take them to try out the animal farmyard, where they could cuddle bunnies, play with guinea pigs, ducks and so much more. Honestly, between me and the kids, I don’t know who was more excited about the farmyard! Unfortunately, I had to let them take a pony ride, whilst I explored the rest of the property.
I found that Open Sky also has an 18 hole putt-putt course, a water park with two pools, a lazy river ride and a paintball arena. There is literally something for the whole family – young and old!
Later that day, we moved to the Lapa area where we enjoyed some rugby. The Lapa, which is open seven days a week, can accommodate up to 450 people and has a big dance floor.
After the rugby, we placed our meal orders which, moments later, arrived. On our table we had steak, ribs, pizza and an eisbein. Our food was scrumptious! My steak was juicy and tender and, looking over to my friends, they seemed to enjoy their meals too.
I found that Open Sky’s function venue and Lapaside makes them the ideal place for corporate events, family get-togethers, business meetings, birthday parties (young and old), bachelor and stork parties, school and church outings, corporate team building, year-end functions, weddings or any other celebrations. Their conferencing facilities are equipped with a projector and microphone, they also have a fully-licensed bar for those special occasions.
We had a great day at Open Sky, especially the kids! We will definitely return!
