Five alleged cop killers continue bail application in Mount Fletcher Magistrate’s Court


Five suspects, aged between 24 and 47 years old, are due to appear again in court on Wednesday after they arrested by the Eastern Cape Hawks on the 21st of October, in connection with the murder of Constable Bulelani Dlamini, aged 35-years-old, who was shot and killed in Mount Fletcher in July 2015.

According to the Hawks, Constable Dlamini was among Mount Fletcher police officers, who responded to a robbery that occurred in the town.

“Upon their arrival, a shootout ensued between them and the robbers, but unfortunately Constable Dlamini succumbed to a gunshot sustained during the shootout,” said police spokesperson, Captain Anelisa Feni.

She added that, the suspects appeared before the Mount Fletcher Magistrate Court on Monday, 24 October, facing charges of murder, attempted murder, robbery and hijacking.

Their bail application was postponed for further investigations.

The suspects will now appear in court again on Wednesday for a continuation of their bail application.
