Four due in Uitenhage court after mystery fatal shooting of Kamesh man


Detective in Kamesh, Uitenhage, have arrested four suspects, aged between 15 and 21 years old, on charges of murder after a 26 year-old man was gunned down outside a shop in Macaw Street, Kamesh, Uitenhage, on Friday night.

According to the police, the four suspects were fleeing from a shop in Macaw Street, Kamesh, and firing shots when the 26 year-old male was fatally wounded.

“It is not clear at this stage what caused the incident, but the police are investigating,” said police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart.

She added that the four suspects were arrested in their homes and the 21 year-old suspect was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The four suspects are expected to appear before the Uitenhage Magistrate's Court on Wednesday facing a charge of murder.
