Four expected in Uitenhage Court after they were bust with stolen SAPS firearm

NOVEMBER 30, 2015

Four suspects from Despatch, outside Port Elizabeth, are expected to appear before the Uitenhage Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday after they busted over the weekend with a stolen SAPS firearm and ammunition.

The arrests follows a search on Sunday at a home along the suburb's Reiers Street by members of the Port Elizabeth flying squad.

According to Eastern Cape police, a 9mm pistol and 13 rounds of ammunition were seized. Police believe the firearm was stolen in Bethelsdorp in July 2014.

The four, aged between 28 and 35, are now facing charges of illegal possession of a firearm and the illegal possession of ammunition.

Elsewhere, Cradock SAPS on Saturday night arrested a 40 year-old male for the possession of 415g of dagga with value of R1 500.
