Free State police launch manhunt for armed robbers

Parkweg police launched an extensive manhunt for the suspects, who allegedly robbed a prominent clothing store in Fichardt Street, Bloemfontein, this morning and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to Free State police; "The four suspects were wearing blue overalls and covered their faces with dusk masks. 

"They allegedly entered the clothing store at approximately 09:30 through the back door carrying empty boxes under the pretext of delivering some goods. Within minutes after entering the shop, two of the suspects pulled out firearms and held two cashiers at gunpoint and demanded cash.

"The suspects ransacked the cash office and took an undisclosed amount of cash that was kept inside the drawers and also made off with two cash registers containing an unknown amount."

Police said that no shots were fired and no injuries were sustained during the incident.

A case of business robbery has been registered for further investigation.
