Gangland Port Elizabeth: Police investigate murder

JULY 24, 2015

Port Elizabeth police are reportedly investigating a case of murder and attempted murder after a shooting incident in the city's Bethelsdorp suburb on Thursday night.

It is believed that a group of five friends were gathered at a house along Vassen Crescent, in the suburb, when they heard a knock at the front door. Upon opening the door, a 40-year old man was shot dead in the head by an unidentified assailant, who was wearing a balaklava.

The suspect then proceeded into the house and started firing shots at the occupants before fleeing on foot.

A man and a woman  were injured in the shooting and taken to hospital.

Police believe the incident may be gang-related and have called on anyone with information to contact the Bethelsdorp Police station.
