The Civil Aviation Authority has confirmed it would be carrying out a full-scale emergency drill at the George Airport today.

According to the local George Herald, the exercise, due to commence at 10h00, will involve a simulated plane crash with 140 passenger on-board, to test the airport’s readiness in the case of an emergency. It however remains unconfirmed whether normal service would be affected.
