Go George Bus services affected by illegal strike: George Municipality



GO GEORGE regrets to announce that the GO GEORGE service remains heavily compromised on Thursday afternoon 8 September as well as Friday 9 September 2016 due to the illegal strike of George Link bus drivers. A very limited service will be delivered on main routes. GO GEORGE suggests that passengers make use of alternative transport where possible. GO GEORGE apologizes for the disruption and the huge impact of this unplanned strike on schools, businesses, passengers and the community. 


Update: George Link, the vehicle operating company is currently in discussion with the union to resolve the situation. GO GEORGE passengers will be informed about the outcome as soon as more information becomes available.



According to the George Municipality, GO GEORGE Bus services are currently severely compromised due to an alleged unplanned and illegal bus driver strike that started on Thursday morning.

"GO GEORGE is monitoring the situation and will continue to support George Link in resolving the issue," said Chantel Edwards-Klose, Acting Manager: Communications at George Municipality.

"GO GEORGE apologizes for the inconvenience and will continuously update businesses, schools and passengers with the latest information."
