Gold makes four changes to the Sharks team

Cell C Sharks Director of Rugby, Gary Gold, has announced his team who will be taking on the Toyota Free State Cheetahs in their Super Rugby match at the Free State stadium on Saturday afternoon.

He has made a total of four changes to the team, with prop Jannie du Plessis returning to the front row after missing last week’s match against the Vodacom Blue Bulls due to the birth of his child. Sharks Captain, Bismarck du Plessis and Beast Mtawarira have also been placed in the front row.

Lock, Mouritz Botha will also be returning to the team this week, after being side-lined due to an eye socket injury, which he sustained in their opening match against the Cheetahs on the 14th of February.

Loose forward, Renaldo Bothma will be coming in for Willem Alberts, who is currently injured.

“The Cheetahs were formidable opponents in our first round encounter and are a real threat with ball in hand,” Gold said.

“We will have our work cut out for us this Saturday in a pressurised situation.”
