Herrera out with rib fracture

Manchester United midfielder, Ander Herrera, will be out of the game for weeks, after he sustained a rib injury in the match against West Ham United at the Old Trafford Stadium in the Greater Manchester, England, on Saturday.

This has been seen as another serious blow for United manager, Louis Van Gaal, after Red’s captain, Wayne Rooney, was sent off the field on Saturday due to him cutting down West Ham midfielder, Stewart Downing. Rooney has been suspended for the whole of October.

Herrera has been an important asset to United, with him being the tenth player that has been injured in his side.

The 24-year-old was pulled off the field in the 74th minute of the game, as he was suffering from back pain. It is still unclear how long the midfielder will be on the sidelines.

Red’s reported on their website: “Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera sustained a fractured rib during the match against West Ham United on Saturday. The Spaniard was substituted in the 74th minute and the club will continue to monitor his progress over the next few weeks.”

United did however beat West Ham 2-1 on Saturday, making this the second victory for the Reds this season.

They will next be facing Everton at the Old Trafford Stadium on Sunday afternoon for their English Premier League game.
