High probability of load shedding for this evening: Eskom

MARCH 2, 2015

Eskom says there is a medium probability of load shedding during the day on Monday, with a high probability of load shedding in the evening.

"Any unexpected changes on the constrained and vulnerable power system could lead to load shedding at short notice. We'll keep you posted," Eskom said in a Tweet on Monday morning.

On sunday, the power utility says it is still doing maintenance on some of its generating units which will strain its production capacity.

Eskom called on consumers to use electricity sparingly as technicians work to complete maintenance and repairs.

Spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe, “It’s dependent on whether all our generating units are back online. If they are all back online we will go through the week without load shedding.”
