Home and business security: DM Cabling celebrates 10 years of delivering the best solutions
With a decade of delivering solid service and results behind them, Port Elizabeth-based company, DM Cabling has become a trusted and sought after installer of CCTV and related security systems on the local home and business market.
DM Cabling was founded by Darius and Charné van der Mescht in May 2005.
“We are proud of how far we have come. We started with one bakkie that Darius, who has 16 years’ experience in the industry, used to do the installations and I did the books at night from home, after working at my full time job,” Charné recalled.
From such humble beginnings, the company has grown to offer services such as CCTV installations and maintenance, access control systems, data and voice cabling, intercoms, PA / sound, electric fencing, fire detection, fibre optic installations and so much more. They also handle backups and maintenance of all new and existing systems.
Charné said that DM Cabling has distinguished itself in the market over the years through its hands-on approach and passion to finding solutions that best fit their clients’ security needs and budgets.
“Throughout the years, DM Cabling has grown tremendously and we are now even doing jobs for major shopping centres, hospitals, office blocks, hotels, factories, warehouses and even households, within and around Port Elizabeth,” she said.
“To date, we have done work throughout the Eastern Cape – in Port Elizabeth, the old Transkei, East London, Bisho, and the Western Cape. We have also recently gone international and are currently doing work in Lesotho.”
Charné said, while the DM Cabling team was relatively small – with 15 staff members, consisting of Gwen, the office manager, Chris, the sales manager as well as the technicians, their combined experience and expertise in the industry was immense.
“We also have reliable temporary staff from time to time as the respective project may require. We pride ourselves in service excellence and the partnerships we have built,” she said.
In order to deliver jobs on time and on budget, she said the company utilises dedicated small teams for each project. “Our technicians are experts in their fields and will provide excellent personalised service during the course of their working period,” Charné explained.
“These technicians also regularly receive training on new systems and developments in our industry. We guarantee the best workmanship on systems installed and maintained by our company.”
Unlike most other companies, she said, DM Cabling also offers their clients flexibility as their technicians can be sent out after hours so they won’t disrupt operations during the day or to suit home clients who may be at work during the day.
Still considering whether you should have CCTV and other security systems installed at your home or business? Having a security system in place is now a necessity in South Africa.
Among other obvious benefits, security systems offer an increased deterrent against would-be thieves or criminals; reduced theft from shoplifters; better detection of misconduct by staff; remote monitoring of home or business premises and an increased sense of safety for your staff and family.
