The South African Weather service has issued an advisory for strong winds and high levels of discomfort across certain parts of the Eastern Cape.

In a statement released earlier this morning, conditions favourable for the developing of veld fires are expected in the Jamestown, Cradock and Queenstown areas, while temperatures exceeding 30 degrees are likely in places over the Blue Crane Route, Sunday's River Valley, Kouga, Kou-Kamma, Ikwezi, Camdeboo, Inxuba Yethemba, Nxuba and Nkonkobe local municipalities.

Severe thunderstorms bringing gusts of wind are forecasted in the Eastern parts of the province, with certain areas along the coast expected to experience high levels of discomfort.
