Illegal RDP house occupants given 30 days to vacate them

APRIL 29, 2015

In a new campaign to root out corruption and fraud in the housing sector, the Eastern Cape Provincial Government has given illegal occupants of RDP houses 30 days to vacate the houses.

Many RDP houses are currently occupied illegally across the province, and many more have been sold illegally.

These illegal sales sometimes create confusion, one of the houses has two people claiming to be the legitimate owners.

Hence, the Eastern Cape Human Settlements Department has stepped in, organising a door-to-door campaign to verify allocations of houses - starting at Zimbane, near Mthatha.
