Injury blow for the Golden Lions
The Golden Lions will have to work hard in Saturday’s Currie Cup game against the Western Province Stormers at Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg, after three of their players were injured in their game against the Blue Bulls last weekend and during training this week.
Scrumhalf Ross Cronje will be out for up to three weeks due to a knee injury sustained their match while Derick Minnie, Captain during the Bulls game, injured his hand in the match at the Loftus Versfeld stadium last week and will also be out for up to three weeks.
Flank Jaco Kriel, fell awkwardly on his calf during a training session on Tuesday while Centre Alwyn Hollenbach also suffered a calf strain. Both are being monitored and will have to pass a fitness test to participate in Saturday’s game.
