Isuzu visits the plains with limited edition KB Serengeti

BY CHARL BOSCH - JUNE 11, 2015

Isuzu South Africa has released a limited edition version of its KB bakkie in the form of the Serengeti Special Edition.

Based on the range topping 300 D-TEQ Double Cab, the Serengeti mainly features a range of cosmetics addition over the standard model, which includes a blacked out B-pillar, chrome door handles, mirrors and rollbar, satin silver roof rails, black plastic moulded bumper guard with a satin silver skidplate, silver sidesteps, tow bar, 18-inch all-terrain alloy wheels and unique Serengeti decals at the base of the front doors.

Changes to the interior follows a similar pattern and adds brushed sliver and chrome insets, Serengeti embroidered floor mats, chrome door sills and black leather for the electric seats.

As with the standard model, power is provided by a 3.0-litre turbodiesel engine that churns out 130 kW and 380 N.m of torque. Transmission options are also unchanged and include a five-speed manual or similar ratio automatic gearbox with the latter only available with two-wheel drive as oppose the optional four-wheel drive drivetrain.

A five year / 120 000 km warranty and five year / 90 000 km service plan are standard on all models.
