It’s all systems go for Nelson Mandela Bay City Half Marathon!


It is all systems go for the inaugural Nelson Mandela Bay City Half Marathon, which will be held tomorrow, November 15, 2014.

Hundreds of national and international athletes, road running enthusiasts and their families are expected to participate and support this 21,1 km race which, with a prize fund of R350 000, is the richest Half Marathon in South Africa.

The route of the Half Marathon starts and finishes close to the Summerstrand Life Saving Club at Pollock Beach.

As a gesture of goodwill, hospitality and the friendliness for which our City is so well known, a cocktail function will be held at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium Presidential Suite today, November 14, 2014 at 18h00 to welcome athletes, sponsors and guests .

Road closures

Due to the Nelson Mandela City Half Marathon, Beach Road will be closed from Driftsands Road to the back gate of NMMU Stadium from 5am to 11am on that Saturday morning.
