Jayde Panayiotou murder case: Suspected middleman in court today

MAY 7, 2015

Speculation is rife on what the world will learn from the first suspect arrested in connection with the murder of Port Elizabeth teacher, Jayde Panayiotou, now identified as Thando Siyoli, 31, who will appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

Siyoli appeared in the same court last Thursday when he was remanded in custody until May 7.

He is believed to have played the role of middleman in the abduction-murder of Jayde.

It was alleged that Jayde's husband, who was arrested at the same with Siyoli and appeared in court on Monday, paid Siyoli R80 000 to arrange the abduction and murder.

It was also believed that Siyoli later helped undercover police officers lure Christopher by demanding an additional R5 000 after Jayde's funeral.

Police reportedly pounced on Panayiotou in Uitenhage after he allegedly paid Siyoli the money.
