Jayde Panayiotou's Husband Arrested For Her Murder

APRIL 30, 2015

Jayde Panayiotou's husband is reportedly the 28-year-old suspect who was arrested for her murder. Reports say Panayiotou's spouse was taken in for questioning late on Wednesday night and is due to appear in court on Monday.

Police in Port Elizabeth on Thursday morning said that they have arrested two suspects (aged 28 and 31) who are believed to be in connection with the abduction and murder of Jayde.

Eastern Cape police spokesperson, Brigadier Marinda Mills, said that robbery has been ruled out as a motive for Panayiotou’s murder.

"The one suspect, aged 31, has been arrested during the week and will appear in court today [Thursday] while the second suspect was arrested late last night and is expected to appear in court on Monday," she said.

The 31-year-old suspect has been charged with abduction and murder.

Panayiotou, who was a teacher at Riebeek College Girl’s High School, was abducted outside of her home in Kabega Park, last week Tuesday.

Her body was found the next day in an isolated area near the KwaNobuhle Township in Uitenhage, with autopsy reports confirming that she had been shot dead.
