A teenager from Kenton-on-Sea is expected in the Kenton-on-Sea Magistrate's Court on Tuesday after he was arrested on Monday afternoon by the Kenton-on-Sea VISPOL and Detectives for allegedly trying to smuggle contraband to prisoners.

"The [17-year-old male] suspect was attempting to pass packages of grocery supplies to prisoners, who were travelling to prison," police said.

"Members searched all three packs and found cylinders wrapped in black packets and packed into mealie meal packets. It contained dagga. The packet of sugar contained a cell phone."
