Khune out of the MTN8 Final due to injury
Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune, will not be competing in the MTN8 Soweto Derby final against Orlando Pirates on Saturday, due to an ankle injury, which will keep him out of the game for two months.
Brilliant Khuzwayo is said to be replacing Khune for the game, with midfielder Willard Katsande saying that Chiefs have many capable hands to back-up Khune, due to the large team.
"It won't affect us at all, because as you can see Kaizer Chiefs have more than 30 players," Katsande said
"Every player is capable of doing well in his absence. It's a chance for someone to step up and play the game."
Katsande has also dismissed concerns that his team would suffer without their goalkeeper, saying that Khune’s injury would give their other goalkeepers, Khuzwayo and Reyaad Pieterse, a chance to play.
Chiefs have had a 100 percent winning streak in this year’s ABSA Premier Soccer League (PSL) and are hoping to keep that up when they face arch rivals, Orlando Pirates, at the Moses Mahbida Stadium in Durban on Saturday.
