Kia’s TEC(hy) addition to Sportage range


Kia Motors South Africa has introduced a limited edition version of its popular Sportage SUV with the biggest changes being a revised standard specification list and a few cosmetics tweaks.

Based on the range topping 2.0 CRDI automatic, the Sportage TEC comes fitted with model exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights with daytime running LED’s, panoramic sunroof, privacy glass and special TEC badges on the tailgate. Interior additions include heated and cooled front seats, push button start and a TFT LCD display.

Mechanically, the TEC remains unchanged from the standard model with the 2.0-litre turbodiesel up front still producing 130 kW and 392 N.m of torque. Likewise, the TEC can have with either front-or all-wheel drive both mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox.

A five year / 150 000 km warranty and five year / 100 000 km service plan is included in the R427 995 and R462 995 asking prices.
