King Williams Town man's three-month housebreaking spree ends after police get tip-off

Eastern Cape police, following up the information received from the community, arrested a 24 year-old male suspect from Balasi Location, outside King Williams Town, for housebreaking.

According to police spokesperson, Lieutenant Siphokazi Mawisa; "Bhisho Police followed the information on Monday and arrested the suspect while he was heading to King Williams Town CBD when they stopped a taxi he was riding to town.  

"Police searched him recovered a laptop and cellphone in his possession. Thorough investigations led Police a house at the village and recovered stolen goods to the value of R16 000. The arrest is a major breakthrough as it solved seven cases that were reported from January 2016 to March 2016."

The suspect was immediately arrested and charged for houserobbery, housebreaking and theft. The suspect will appear at Zwelitsha Magistrate Court on Thursday.

The Station Commander of King Williams Town SAPS, Colonel Nomonde Mene thanked the members for the job well done in apprehending the suspect and more cases are solved as the result of this arrest. She is so grateful of the working relationship between the community and Police as most cases are solved due to the information received from them.
