Kings team announced for Jaguares clash

APRIL 30, 2016

Southern Kings Head Coach, Deon Davids, has made nine changes to his team for the Super Rugby match against the Jaguares in Argentina on Saturday evening.

Hooker Edgar Marutlulle will be in place of Martin Ferreira in the front row, and Jacobie Adriaanse will be replaced by Tom Botha at tighthead prop.

Jaco van Tonder has been placed at fullback, replacing Malcolm Jaer who is currently injured. Stefan Watermeyer has been selected as outside centre.

Ntando Kebe will replace James Hall at scrumhalf, and Elgar Watts will be starting at flyhalf in place of Louis Fouche, who will be on the bench this week.

JC Astle will be returning to the second row, alongside skipper Steven Sykes.

Davids said that he is expecting a tough game on Saturday.

“They (Jaguares) have a good forward pack and will definitely come at us with driving mauls. They’re an internationally experienced side, they love ball in hand, and they love using the width of the field and love a quick game, he said on Friday.

“We will just have to be very alert and very aware of what is happening in front of us and will have to work very hard within our structures and systems,” he added.

The match will start at 23.40pm South African time on Saturday evening.
