A 30 year-old is expected to appear in the KwaNobuhle Magistrate's Court on Monday after he was busted by local SAPS, less than five hours after a vehicle was hijacked in Motherwell.

"What happened is that there was a hijacking in Motherwell, unfortunately for the hijackers, the vehicle had a tracking device," described police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli.

"So it was traced to Uitenhage and our officers were dispatched to a house in De Bruin Street, KwaNobuhle.

"Upon arrival, they found two suspects in the vehicle, a black VW Polo - unfortunately, one suspect managed to escape and the officers apprehended the 30 year-old suspect."

He said that the arrested suspect faces a charge of possession of stolen property.

The police are also tracking down the suspect that fled.
