Labour Committee in Northern Cape for National Minimum Wage

The Portfolio Committee on Labour will tomorrow (28 March) conduct public hearings on the national minimum wage at Hartswater, in the Northern Cape.

The Committee has travelled the length and breadth of the country soliciting input from ordinary workers in SA, since President Jacob Zuma requested an investigation into the viability of a national minimum wage in the country.

The Northern Cape is the eighth province to be visited.

The Chairperson of the Committee, Ms Lumka Yengeni, called on South Africans to come forward and make a meaningful contribution to the process. The only province that is yet to be visited is Mpumalanga.
