Latest weather update: Temps in upper 30's recorded in Port Elizabeth

Update 2:30pm: Maximum Temperatures, by 2pm, for today 05 November 2015 - This was as a result of Berg Wind Conditions. Port Elizabeth (37.5C); Uitenhage (38.4C); Coega (40.0C); Plettenberg Bay (36.5C); George (35.6C); Moseesl Bay (34.4C); East London (29.6C); Mthatha (33.8C); Ft Beaufort (36.6C); Grahamstown (33.6C); Joubertina (35.7C); Port Alfred (33.1C); Graaf Reinett (34.5C); Cradock (34.4C); Queenstown (31.2C); Bisho (34.9C); Addo (39.1C); Willowmore (34.9C); Elliot (27.1C);  and Aliwal North (29.1C).

"At 12h30 most of Port Elizabeth had a Discomfort Level of around 105 EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE," described Garth Sampson, Client Liaison Officer at SA Weather Services Eastern Cape. 

"The Only exception was Shark Rock Pier that was considerably cooler thanks to a slight cool sea breeze."

"The wind direction in Port Elizabeth has once again changed and increased the temperature to 37C, with a Discomfort Level of 107 EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE.

"It is approaching the HAZARDOUS TO HEALTH LEVEL," Sampson said.

"In certain areas of the metro it is highly likely that this level has been reached. It is advisable to cancel all school sports and cease strenuous outdoor activity.
