A Lesotho national is expected to appear in the Butterworth Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday following, after being accused of rape.

The suspect, 35, was arrested on Saturday by Butterworth Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) for allegedly raping two young boys aged eight and nine respectively.

Eastern Cape police said the incident happened at a farm near Zizamele Township in Butterworth, where the suspect was allegedly employed as a shepherd.

“The allegation is that the suspect raped the two boys on different dates. It came to the attention of the parents that the two victims were raped by the suspect,” police said.
