Live Capture system at Humansdorp Traffic Department down

The Live Capturing Unit (LCU) at the Humansdorp Traffic Department is broken, the Kouga Local Municipality advised residents on Monday.

"As a result, the Department cannot currently process any applications for driver's or learner licences," it said.

"The LCU is supplied and maintained by the Eastern Cape Department of Transport, and the problem has been reported to their service provider.

"However, we cannot at this stage say how long repairs will take.

"Our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience."

The Kouga Municipality said that applications for learner's licences (not driver's licences) can be made at the Hankey Traffic Unit (at the municipality's main office in Hankey).

"Both driver's and learner tests at Humansdorp can continue, but applicants are asked to take note that we will not be able to issue those, who complete their driver's test successfully with a temporary licence until the LCU has been repaired," it added.

"Those who pass their learner's test will, however, receive proof that they have done so."
