Liverpool beats Ludogorets Razgrad 2-1

Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard, scored the Red’s winning goal, in a 93rd minute penalty against Bulgarian side, Ludogorets Razgrad in their UEFA Champions League game on Tuesday, scraping home a 2-1 victory.

The Red’s new signing, Mario Balotelli, scored the first goal for the team in the 82nd minute, however, Ludogorets visiting substitute, Dani Abalo, equalised in the first minute of stoppage time.

Ludogorets’ new goalkeeper, Milan Borjan, who joined the team on Sunday, let Gerrard slip in a last minute goal, which gave Liverpool their first victory this season.

With Liverpool forward, Daniel Sturridge, out of the game due to injury, the team worked in attack mode. However, Red’s manager, Brendon Rodgers, has said that the he expects significant improvements for the game against Basel on the 1st of October.

Liverpool’s starting 14 had featured five players who participated in the Champions League for the first time, including midfielder Raheem Sterling, who was on the bench in Saturday’s 0-1 loss against Aston Villa.
