Liverpool wants Origi back

Liverpool is hoping to make an agreement with Lille OSC for the return of Belgium striker, Divock Origi, six months earlier than planned.

Origi has been on loan to Lille since mid-2014 and was to stay with the team for the entire 2014/15 season.

It has since been reported that this loan can be terminated, if the Reds are willing to pay in an extra €4 million along with the €13 million they have already paid.

Liverpool has not been on top of their game, since their star striker, Daniel Sturridge, injured his thigh muscle in August last year and has been side-lined ever since.

Newly signed striker, Mario Balotelli, who has also experienced a slow start since joining the Reds in August, has only scored two goals in 15 games. Due to this, the team has been lacking the firepower they need for the second half of the season, and are hoping that they can get Origi back as soon as possible.

No official deal has yet been made but Anfield officials are confident that Origi will return later this month.

"I would love to move to Liverpool sooner rather than later. I am here at Lille, it is fine, they are a good club and they have helped me but it is also frustrating. It is French football. I can't wait to be playing in the Premier League because I can now see that it will suit me better,” Origi said.

"They have a team with a lot of talent, with a lot of good players and a very good coach but they have had a lot of injuries and this has not helped them.
