Load shedding: Stage one load shedding turns to stage two after 17h00

JUNE 22, 2015

Eskom has announced that it will be implementing stage one load shedding from 16h00-17h00 and then stage two from 17h00-22h00 citing a lack of generating capacity due to regular maintenance as the main reason.

The power utility’s announcement comes after Public Enterprises Lynne Brown earlier today told the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) that the state-owned parastatal would continue carrying out repairs to aging infrastructure without having to introduce rolling blackouts.

“We are all in it together and it will take us about 24 months to get us out of this position,” she said.
