KwaNobuhle police on Thursday arrested two suspects, aged 20 years old, after they allegedly robbed a shop in Makapa Street, KwaNobuhle, in Uitenhage.

According to the police, on Thursday, at about 16:15, two 'armed' male suspects entered the shop and demanded cash. They took undisclosed amount of cash, cell phones, groceries and airtime.

“However, the suspects and the owner were involved in a scuffle and the owner sustained an injury to his arm,” said police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart.

She added that the owner managed to call police, who acted immediately and apprehended the suspects in the shop.

Police recovered all the items and confiscated two replica guns.

The suspects will appear before the KwaNobuhle Magistrate's Court on Monday facing charges of business robbery.
