Major Metro Storage Dams at 77.58% of Capacity

The five major storage dams supplying the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality were at a combined 77.58% of capacity when the latest reading was taken this morning.

This is 0.25% above the level recorded two weeks ago.

Details released by the municipality show that the largest storage dam, the Kouga was at 87.26% of capacity compared with 85.65% on November 10.

The second largest, the Impofu was at 69.73%, down from 70.78% recorded two weeks ago, while the Churchill was at 59.47% compared to 61.18% on November 10.

The Groendal remained at 100% and the Loerie was up to 74.26% from 60.77%.

There is still no clarity as to if and when water restrictions and punitive tariffs will be introduced. - MetroMinutes.
