Man and woman busted in Mount Frere with R50 000 worth of dagga

Two suspects, a 29-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, are expected to appear in court in Mount Frere after they were arrested for possession of a large amount of dagga in the town's Main street on Thursday morning.

According to Eastern Cape police, dagga weighing 50.8kg, with an estimated street value of R50 000, was recovered and confiscated by local police.

"The incident occurred as a result of Crime Intelligence driven operation," police said.

"It is alleged that they were transporting dagga from the area of Macwerheni in Ntabankulu to Beaufort West, Western Cape."
