Man arrested with drugs worth R400 000 in Port Alfred

Alertness on the part of Port Alfred police officers resulted in the arrest of a man with a substantial amount of drugs.

"At 08:30 on Saturday morning, the Port Alfred Highway Patrol stopped and searched a suspicious vehicle in Albany Road," local police said.

"Two bags of crystal meth were found under the driver's seat, weighing 2 kg with an estimated value of R400 000."

A 49-year-old man was arrested and will appear in court on Monday.
