Man arrested with unmarked sheep worth R187 200 expected in court

A 40-year-old male driver, who was arrested by members of the SAPS Uitenhage, and the local traffic department, outside Port Elizabeth, during a routine roadblock on the R334, between Motherwell and Uitenhage on Thursday morning, is expected to appear in the Uitenhage Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Police confiscated 144 sheep to the value of R187 200 that was underway from Somerset East to Despatch

According to the police, he faces charges ranging from possession of stock not marked in accordance with the stock theft act (Act 57 of 1959) and under Section 8, documents incomplete (Stock theft act, Act 57 of 1959).
