Matter of Dr Adams alleged to have defrauded Department of Labour’s worker’s fund postponed

The long-drawn case of Dr David Michael Adams (40) alleged to have defrauded Department of Labour’s Compensation Fund of R396 660-00 was today (February 6) postponed in the Pretoria Commercial Crime Court.

Adams, who is facing a charge of theft is now expected to appear again on 06 March 2015, in which the Court will arrange a trial date. He has not yet pleaded. Dr Adams operates in Lehurutse, North West.

The State issued a stern warning against Adams’ legal representative to ensure that the matter is expedited, as it has been dragging since last April. Dr Adams did not appear in Court as he was reported to be ill.

The Compensation Fund is a public entity of Department of Labour that provides cushion to workers injured or who contract diseases at work.
